Dear Kyle,
Mommy is writing this letter to you today to let you know why I have started our foundation. The first and most important reason is my love for you. It is my hope and desire that what I build today will be the foundation of your future. I want to help find a cure for you and all of the other children and family members who suffer with epilepsy. I cannot bear the thought of anyone else having to be told their child has epilepsy. I cannot bear the thought of anyone else suffering like you have my child. I cannot stand the idea that children suffer with seizure after seizure and sometimes we cannot fix this. It hurts my heart when you stare at me blankly while you have a seizure take control of you. It frustrates me that the seizures strip you of your memory. I hate watching your seizures take away all that you have learned. It hurts to see your devestation at having to learn your abc's...again and again.
I want to help other familes help themselves with support from our communities. Too many people do not know what epilepsy is and how devestating it can be to the children and adults who suffer with the disorder and the families and friends who try to support them day after day. I want to make a difference and help raise alot of money to help fund a cure. I want to make a difference, for you and all those who live with epilepsy. We can make a difference. We will make a difference Kyle.
We are all going to stand strong together and raise awareness. It is my dream to look you in the eye one day my sweet boy and tell you we have WON. Mama promises I will not let you down! I will fight for you as long as I need to. I can’t wait until I am able to pass this onto you one day my sweet boy. Then you can talk with all the kids that have been effected by this just like you and tell them NOT to give up we are going to find a cure. We are going to teach the world that people with epilepsy matter too! They deserve as much respect as anyone else does.
I have learned so much from you in these past 9 years: Never give up and to always SMILE! So I am never going to give up working our foundation and I am always going to smile. I cant wait to share your story and smile with the world! They are going to fall in love with K-man! Mommy loves you my sweet angel you mean more to me then you will ever know!!
